Sustainability a baseline requirement

BOAL EXTRUSION UK STRENGTHENS CIRCULAR PARTNERSHIPS

In its 35th anniversary year, BOAL Extrusion UK reaffirms its commitment to responsible aluminium production, regional resilience, and customer-driven innovation. From its site in the East Midlands, the company has been developing precision-engineered aluminium profiles since 1990, serving industries as varied as solar, transport, lighting and architecture.

“Sustainability is no longer a differentiator - it’s a baseline requirement,” says Emma Swann, Managing Director.

Partnership and Production

BOAL’s approach is built around strategic partnerships, responsible sourcing, and transparent production - proudly Made in Britain.

At a time when industrial agility, traceability and circularity are shaping market expectations, BOAL’s offering stands out: from design for manufacturability and tooling to on-site extrusion, machining and surface treatment. All delivered with responsiveness, precision and environmental accountability.

BLUE - BOAL’s Sustainable Aluminium Programme

A key highlight is BOAL’s BLUE programme, which supports customers in making more sustainable material choices:

  • BLUE Recycled Content aluminium: Using locally sourced billets with a minimum of 65% recycled content, including both pre- and post-consumer scrap.

  • BLUE Low Carbon aluminium: Sourced from producers using renewable energy and selected through a responsible sourcing framework.

By prioritising recycled aluminium over prime wherever possible, BOAL helps customers reduce environmental impact while maintaining performance and availability.

Made in Britain, Built for Impact

BOAL’s local-for-local manufacturing strategy delivers measurable benefits. In the transportsector, a UK-based client reshored production, gaining speed, control and sustainability. In construction, BOAL’s UK-based extrusion and machining capabilities have enabled developers to meet tight project timelines while reducing reliance on overseas supply chains.

“We see ourselves as a strategic partner,” Swann adds. “Whether you're looking to optimise design, reduce material impact or strengthen your supply chain, we’re here to explore what’s possible together.”

With continued investment in process innovation, skills development and customer collaboration, BOAL Extrusion UK remains firmly focused on sustainable growth and helping its partners move confidently into the future.

Together, we make it happen!
FAST. RELIABLE. TRUSTED.
