BLUE by BOAL Extrusion

Aluminium plays a key role in the circular economy, thanks to its ability to be endlessly recycled without any loss of quality. Our BLUE family offers you a choice of high-recycled content and/or low carbon billets to help support your environmental aspirations.

Infinitely Recyclable Exceptionally Efficient

Aluminium plays a key role in the circular economy, thanks to its ability to be endlessly recycled without any loss of quality. Recycling aluminium into newly cast billet can use as little as 5% of the energy required for primary aluminium production. In Europe, smelting and casting generate around 7.7kg of CO₂e per kilogram of billet, with global averages reaching 15.1kg.

Boosting recycled content, or switching to renewable energy sources, can reduce the environmental impact drastically.

SUSTAINABLE ALUMINIUM WITHOUT COMPROMISE

Our BLUE family offers you a choice of high-recycled content or low carbon billets to help support your environmental aspirations. We do this by adopting a mass-balance approach in line with international standards.

Why choose BLUE?

Lower the CO₂e footprint of your project

BLUE by BOAL reduces the carbon footprint without compromising on strength or performance.

Contributes to a circular economy

Sustainably extruded aluminium with a high share of recycled aluminium content.

Supports green certifications

Meets the requirements of sustainability standards such as BREEAM, LEED and Cradle to Cradle.

BLEU RECYCLED CONTENT

At least 65% recycled content

For BLUE Recycled Content aluminium we use locally sourced billet with a minimum of 65% recycled content comprising both pre- and post consumer scrap.

BLEU LOW CARBON

4KG CO₂e per kg aluminium

BLUE Low Carbon aluminium we source billets produced using renewable energy sources such as solar, wind and hydropower. Combined with further manufacturing measures like sourcing 100% green electricity, on-site solar generation and recycling, we achieve a significantly reduced footprint: a maximum of 4kg CO₂e per kg aluminium, well below the industry average of 15.1kg.
